The European Commission confirmed the go live date for ETIAS, the European Travel Information and Authorization System, in the final quarter of 2026.

Travelers from over 60 visa exempt countries, including the US, UK, and Canada, will need an approved ETIAS before boarding to any Schengen area country.

The application is completed online, costs EUR 7, and is valid for three years or until the passport expires.
